What is asbestos?

Asbestos is made up of a group of minerals that occur naturally as a bundle of fibers. These fibers are found in soil and rocks in many parts of the world.

Asbestos fibers can be useful because they are strong, resistant to heat and many chemicals, and have been used as an insulating material for factories, schools, homes, ships, as well as roofing shingles, floor slabs, cement and hundreds of other products.

However, according to expert agencies asbestos has been linked to cancer.

Over time the fibers can build up and cause scarring and inflammation, which can make breathing difficult and lead to serious health problems.

If there is a possibility of being exposed to asbestos in your workplace, for example in the renovation of old buildings, contact us, asbestos removal is one of our specialist services.
