SANTO DOMINGO. From now on, the waters of the swimming pool of the aquatic complex of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center will be under control. At least, that was the agreement reached by the company Altol (Dominican Republic) and the board of trustees of the aquatic complex, presided by Marcos Días.

The agreement, signed on August 12, brings serenity and, especially, safety, to the more than five thousand users who dive into these waters every month. The idea is "to add a guarantee of hygiene and safety," said Diaz, who together with Getulio Beato, president of Altol (DR) led the signing of the agreement in the pool area.

Mario Aybar, director of the complex, Rosalia Ventura, commercial manager of Altol and Arturo Ramirez, secretary of the Dominican Swimming Federation, were at the event.

Diaz said that Altol is intended to control and monitor "the quality of the water in this complex".

The more than five thousand users are involved in sports initiation, explained Mario Aybar, director of the complex, not including the national swimming teams that train in that space. They are given a skin test.

With the agreement, it seeks to ensure the control of water. The company, Beato explained, has been involved in certification and water quality for more than three decades.

The economic cost of conducting a bacteriological and PH control study of the water in the center's three pools was not immediately established. However, "the swimmers when they come to this center will have almost zero risk," Beato said. "Zero risk doesn't exist, but minimizing the risks does. This is not a negotiation this is a contribution."

The investment in the analysis, "will be determined when the first study is done," especially at the end of the month, since the idea is to do a weekly one.

"There will be a weekly microbiological analysis of the water, compared to international standards," Beato said.
